Increased turnover shows that retail trade enterprises have adjusted to restrictions

According to Statistics Estonia, in April 2021, the turnover of retail trade enterprises was 656 million euros. Compared to April 2020, turnover increased by 23% at constant prices – the increase was mainly the result of both trade enterprises and consumers adjusting to the restrictions related to the coronavirus crisis.

Statistics Estonia to start negotiations on resuming mobility analysis

According to the guidelines of the Government of the Republic, Statistics Estonia is starting negotiations with mobile network operators to resume mobility analysis that was conducted last spring. The goal of the planned mobility analysis is to help evaluate the impact of adopted measures on the movement of people, direct communication and surveillance resources in Estonian regions and assess change in the risk of infection. Statistics Estonia used the same methodology for conducting mobility analysis during the emergency situation in spring 2020.

Construction volume increased by 17%, boosted mainly by the domestic market

According to Statistics Estonia, in the second quarter of 2021, the total production value of Estonian construction enterprises in Estonia and abroad increased by 17% year on year. Considering only the Estonian construction market, the growth in construction volume was 18%.

Industrial producer price index rose by nearly 25% year on year

In December 2021, the producer price index of industrial output, which expresses changes in the producer prices of industrial goods manufactured in Estonia for the domestic market and for export, increased by 24.7% compared to December 2020 and by 5.3% compared to November 2021.

Crop farming survey

What kind of survey is it? The crop farming survey provides data about areas under cultivation and harvested areas of agricultural crops, production and yield, fertilisers, organic farming, liming, seed use, and autumn sowings of winter crops. A large part of the data are obtained from registers (for example, data on areas under cultivation received from the Agricultural Registers and Information Board and data on units that fill in the electronic field book in e-ARIB), and missing data are collected from respondents with the survey. The preparation of analytical output using anonymous data from electronic communications, with the purpose to prevent the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19), which was assigned to Statistics Estonia by the order of the crisis commission of the Government of the Republic, will not be based on real-time data. There is no plan and it is not possible to use the data to analyse the movement of individuals.
