Lauri Veski, team lead of consumer price statistics at Statistics Estonia, said that the consumer price index in July was up by 0.6% compared with June and by 5.4% year on year. “The last time the year-on-year change in the index was this high was in July 2023, when it stood at 6.4%. In 2023 as a whole, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were 1,832 euros, up by 11.3% compared with 2022. The median monthly gross wages were 1,578 euros in the fourth quarter of 2023 and 1,501 euros in 2023 overall.
