Producer price index of industrial output rose in July

The producer price index of industrial output, which expresses changes in the producer prices of industrial goods manufactured in Estonia for the domestic market and for export, increased by 0.4% in July 2024 compared with June and by 0.8% compared with July last year.
Passenger and goods transport through ports increased last year

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2019, compared to 2018, the number of passengers on main national ship lines increased by 4% and in international traffic by 0.3%. The freight volume of ports in tonnes increased by around 5%.

Lauri Veski, team lead of consumer price statistics at Statistics Estonia, said that, compared with April last year, the more expensive healthcare services, food products and transport and housing had the biggest impact on the consumer price index. “In April, there were changes in the price lists of healthcare services, which affect the index both annually and monthly. Compared with April 2024, prices have increased across almost all categories of goods and services. Number of tourists in accommodation establishments did not increase significantly in September

Helga Laurmaa, leading analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that the number of accommodated tourists was still 6% lower than in September 2019. The number of foreign tourists in accommodation establishments was down by 20%, whereas the number of domestic tourists was 19% higher than in September of the record year before the crisis. “153,000 foreign and 125,000 domestic tourists were accommodated in Estonia in September 2024. This causes floods and natural disasters to occur more often and increases the risk of species extinction. The 2030 Agenda lays down the target to mitigate climate change as well as adapt to it.
