According to Statistics Estonia, in 2021, the construction price index increased by 8.3% compared to the average of 2020. In the fourth quarter of last year, the construction price index rose by 3.0% compared to the third quarter, while the index growth compared to the fourth quarter of 2020 reached a record high – 14.7%.

According to Statistics Estonia, at midnight the e-census of the pilot Census of PHC 2011 came to an end. In the course of e-census, 5497 persons were enumerated via Internet. In March the pilot Census will be continued with face-to-face interviews, when the interviewers of Statistics Estonia visit the inhabitants who did not participate in e-census.
Consumer price index rose in January

According to Statistics Estonia, in January 2019 compared to December 2018, the change of the consumer price index was –0.2% and compared to January of the previous year, 2.7%.
Household Budget Survey starts in December

On Sunday, 9 December, Statistics Estonia launches the Household Budget Survey, to collect data from households on their daily expenditure and consumption. The survey runs until the end of 2019.

PHC 2011: Number of households with children is decreasing

According to the data of the 2011 Population and Housing Census (PHC 2011), there were 599,832 households in Estonia. Compared to the previous, 2000 Population Census, the share of households with children younger than 18 years of age has decreased from 33.6% to 25.2%.
Life expectancy is increasing in Estonia

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2017, life expectancy at birth was 73.7 years for males and 82.3 years for females. In the last ten years, male life expectancy has risen by 6 and female life expectancy by 3.5 years. As a result, the difference in male and female life expectancy has decreased.
