According to Statistics Estonia, in June 2022, Estonia’s exports of goods increased by 26% and imports by 24% compared with June 2021. Compared with the second quarter of last year, exports grew by 21% and imports by 30%. In June and in the second quarter as a whole, trade was primarily boosted by the increased exports and imports of mineral fuels and electricity and wood and articles of wood.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 3rd quarter of 2019, there were 11,892 job vacancies in the enterprises, institutions and organisations of Estonia. The number of job vacancies has remained above 10,000 since the 1st quarter of 2017.

According to Statistics Estonia, in August 2022, Estonia’s exports of goods increased by 20% and imports by 28% compared with August 2021. Imports from Russia fell by 55% and imports from Belarus by 96% year on year.

According to Statistics Estonia, population density is the highest in the Lasnamäe district of Tallinn city, specifically in the Linnamäe-Kärberi streets area with 15,800 inhabitants per square kilometre, as shown by the 1 km x 1 km grid map of population density created on the basis of the 2011 Population and Housing Census.

Jane Leppmets, a foreign trade analyst at Statistics Estonia, noted that growth in foreign trade in services was most affected by travel services and other business services. “In the third quarter, exports of services to EU countries increased by 8% and imports from EU countries by 4%. Extra-EU exports of services were also up by 8%, however, extra-EU imports were down by 4%. According to Statistics Estonia, in November 2018, compared to November 2017, the turnover of retail trade enterprises increased 5% at constant prices. While in October the turnover increased 3% compared to the same month of the previous year, in November the growth accelerated.
