Milk production increased last year

According to preliminary data of Statistics Estonia, the production of milk amounted to 694,800 tons in 2011, which is 3% more than in a year before. The number of dairy cows did not change significantly compared to the previous year, but milk production per cow kept increasing.

The overall percentage of people living in relative poverty decreased 0.3 percentage points compared to the previous year, the percentage of people living in absolute poverty decreased 2.4 percentage points.
