According to Statistics Estonia, in the second quarter of 2023, the dwelling price index increased by 5% compared with the second quarter of 2022 and by 3.8% compared with the first quarter of 2023.

Lauri Veski, team lead of consumer price statistics at Statistics Estonia, said that, compared with October 2023, the consumer price index was affected the most by price changes related to food and non-alcoholic beverages, recreation, and phone services. “Among food products, the higher prices of non-alcoholic beverages (+20.4%), fruits (+12.4%) and vegetables (+5.5%) drove up the index the most compared with October last year. According to the preliminary data of Statistics Estonia, the total turnover of retail trade enterprises in 2023 was 10.5 billion euros. Compared with 2022, turnover decreased by 8% at constant prices.

The producer price index of industrial output, which expresses changes in the producer prices of industrial goods manufactured in Estonia for the domestic market and for export, fell by 1.0% in July 2023 compared with June and by 3.2% compared with July last year.

According to Statistics Estonia, in March 2024, the turnover of retail trade enterprises was 851 million euros. Compared with March 2023, the volume of retail trade turnover* fell by 4%.

According to Statistics Estonia and Eesti Pank, in the first quarter of 2021, the exports of services grew by 2% and imports of services by 51% year on year. Estonian economic entities exported and imported services for 1.6 billion euros. The imports of services increased mainly on account of growth in telecommunications, computer and information services.

According to Statistics Estonia, 859,600 tonnes of milk were purchased from Estonian agricultural producers in 2023, for which farmers were paid nearly 375 million euros. The average purchase price for the year was 436.73 euros per tonne, 5.8% lower than a year earlier.

According to Statistics Estonia, nearly 225,000 tourists stayed in accommodation establishments in February 2024, which is 1% more than in February last year. The number of domestic tourists decreased a little, while the number of foreign tourists increased.
