According to Statistics Estonia, in October 2016, the average gross hourly earnings of female employees were 20.9% lower than the average gross hourly earnings of male employees. The gender pay gap decreased by 1.3 percentage points compared to the previous year. The gender pay gap decreased by 1.3 percentage points for the third year in a row.

According to the preliminary data of Statistics Estonia, in 2014 the total production of Estonian construction enterprises in Estonia and in foreign countries amounted to 2.1 billion euros, which is 3% less than in 2013. If only the Estonian construction market is considered, the construction volumes decreased 2%.

According to the preliminary data of Statistics Estonia, the production of milk amounted to 791,800 tonnes in 2017, which is 1% more than the year before. The number of dairy cows increased slightly by the end of the year and also the average annual milk production per cow increased.

According to Statistics Estonia, the unemployment rate was 7.5% and the employment rate was 66.5% in the 3rd quarter of 2016. The labour force participation rate increased by 1 percentage point compared to the same quarter of the previous year and the number of inactive working-age people is on a downtrend.

Previously, the place of registration could have been a church, municipality government, city address board, housing board or the Population Register. In recent decades, developed countries have found that register data are usually more accurate than survey data, and so population censuses have also begun to use them. Back in 2011, eight European Union countries conducted the census on a register basis: in addition to the Nordic countries, the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria and Slovenia.

According to Statistics Estonia, there were 7,600 job vacancies in the enterprises, institutions and organisations of Estonia in the 2th quarter of 2014. The number of job vacancies increased by 6.3% compared to the previous quarter and by 0.4% compared to the 2nd quarter of 2013.
