According to Statistics Estonia, in June 2022, Estonian accommodation establishments served nearly 337,000 tourists, which is 56% more than in June last year. The number of both domestic and foreign tourists* increased.
Living longer, but health is worse

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2018, life expectancy at birth was 73.9 years for males and 82.4 years for females. Life expectancy has increased for both sexes, slightly more for males. Men are expected to live disability-free for 52.8 and women for 55.6 years. Just a year ago, disability-free life expectancy for males was two years longer and for females over three years longer.

Absolute poverty means that a person’s income is below the absolute poverty threshold. The threshold is calculated on the basis of equivalised disposable income that takes into account the composition of the household (the weight of the first adult member is 1, the weight of each additional member aged at least 14 years is 0.7 and the weight of everyone under 14 years of age is 0.5), i.e. the total household income is divided by the sum of equivalence scales of household members. Industrial production fell to the level of a decade ago

According to Statistics Estonia, in April 2020, the production of industrial enterprises decreased by 17% compared to April 2019. Production decreased in all three industrial activities: manufacturing, energy production and mining.

1,366,491 people – Estonia's population grew due to immigration, the number of births fell

According to the preliminary data of Statistics Estonia, on 1 January 2024, the population of Estonia was 1,366,491, which is 607 persons more than at the same time a year ago. In 2023, there were 10,721 births and 15,832 deaths in Estonia. Based on the data on registered migration, 20,209 persons immigrated to Estonia and 14,491 persons emigrated from Estonia. Compared with a year earlier, the number of births, deaths and immigrants has fallen, while the number of emigrants has risen.

Manufacture of food products increased in February

According to Statistics Estonia, in February 2020, the production of industrial enterprises remained at the level of February 2019. Of the three sectors of industry, production increased in manufacturing, but decreased in energy and mining.
