Statistics Estonia finished the last Pilot Census of the 2011 Population and Housing Census, where during 11 days the conduct of the whole Census was tested. Over 300 employees of Statistics Estonia and volunteers participated in the test.

According to Statistics Estonia, on the basis of the final results of the 2010 Agricultural Census the concentration of production into large holdings as well as high percentage of rented land characterises the agriculture of Estonia. Exports and imports of services were at the same level in the first quarter

According to Statistics Estonia and Eesti Pank, in the first quarter of 2021, the exports of services grew by 2% and imports of services by 51% year on year. Estonian economic entities exported and imported services for 1.6 billion euros. The imports of services increased mainly on account of growth in telecommunications, computer and information services.

Today, a team from Statistics Estonia met with the census committee of the Estonian Government to present the questionnaire of the Population and Housing Census 2021 and discuss the current state of the project. The exact census methodology will be decided once the allocation of additional funds from the government reserves for 2021 and from the 2022 state budget has been confirmed.

Today is the last day to apply for enumerator’s post

Thursday, 3 November is the last day one can apply for the enumerator’s post at the Population and Housing Census starting at the end of the year. For conducting the Population Census, Statistics Estonia recruits 2,000 enumerators as total.

83% of Estonia’s inhabitants are aware of the upcoming Population and Housing Census, revealed a survey conducted by the research agency Faktum & Ariko. The majority of the respondents believed that the Census was necessary.
