Producer price index continued to decrease in November
According to Statistics Estonia, in November, the producer price index of industrial output fell by 0.1% compared to October and by 0.9% compared to November 2018.
In November, compared to the previous month, the producer price index was affected more than average by a price decrease in the production of electricity and in mining and quarrying. Price increase in the manufacture of fuel oils, chemicals and chemistry products also had an impact on the index.
Compared to November 2018, the index was affected mainly by a price decrease in electricity and heat energy supply, manufacture of wood and wood products and electronic equipment, but also by a price increase in mining and quarrying and in manufacture of food products.

The export price index changed by 0.0% compared to October. The prices of electricity, metals and wearing apparel decreased the most, while the prices of peat, agricultural and wood products increased. The export price index fell by 1.2% compared to November 2018.
The import price index changed by 0.0% compared to October. The prices of electricity, metals and wood products decreased more than average, while the prices of motor vehicles, electronic equipment and agricultural products increased. The import price index fell by 1.0% compared to November 2018.
The statistics are based on the questionnaires “Producer price”, ”Export price” and “Import price”, the deadline of which was 6 December 2019. Statistics Estonia published the monthly summary in ten working days.
