According to the preliminary data of Statistics Estonia, on 1 January 2023, the population of Estonia was 1,357,739, which is 2% (25,943 persons) more than at the same time a year ago. In 2022, there were 11,588 births and 17,245 deaths in Estonia. Helga Laurmaa, leading analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that 133,800 foreign and 117,500 domestic tourists were accommodated in Estonia in April 2025. The number of foreign tourists has shown considerable growth over the last year but has not yet fully recovered from the slump a few years ago. “Compared with April 2024, the number of foreign tourists increased by 16%. Helle Bunder, leading analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that April data show that the growth in manufacturing output has become broad-based. “In April, the volume of industrial production increased in most manufacturing activities. Looking at the larger industries, output grew in the manufacture of wood (3.1%), electrical equipment (7.3%), fabricated metal products (6.6%), and food products (6.1%),” said Bunder. Among the major industries, there was a decline in output in the manufacture of chemical products (7.6%) and computers and electronic products (3.2%). In April 2025, 65.2% of the
