According to Statistics Estonia, in January 2024, the turnover of retail trade enterprises was 766 million euros. Compared with January 2023, turnover fell by 7% at constant prices.

In 2023, Estonia’s exports of goods amounted to €18.2 billion and imports to €21.2 billion at current prices. Exports decreased by 16% and imports by 17% compared with 2022. 30% of the enterprises whose submission deadline for the comprehensive annual questionnaire for enterprises (EKOMAR) was Friday, 1 July submitted the questionnaire by the deadline. At Wednesday’s meeting with enterprises submitting EKOMAR questionnaires, Statistics Estonia explains the importance of the collected data to enterprises and hopes to improve data collection in cooperation with them.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the first quarter of 2024, the gross domestic product (GDP) decreased by 2.4% compared with the same period of 2023. The GDP at current prices amounted to 8.9 billion euros.

Since the first quarter of 2023, Statistics Estonia uses the data from the employment register of the Tax and Customs Board and the income and social tax declarations to publish the average wages and salaries.
