  3. The increase in the number of job vacancies continued in the 2nd quarter
According to Statistics Estonia, there were more than 8,100 job vacancies in the enterprises, institutions and organisations of Estonia in the 2nd quarter of 2012 – this is 29% more than in the same period last year. Compared to the same quarter of the previous year, the number of job vacancies has been increasing since the 2nd quarter of 2010, after the decline in 2008 and 2009.

Since 2014, 73,400 foreign citizens have become e-residents of Estonia. 20% of these e-residents have participated in founding a business and over 14,200 businesses have been registered in Estonia with their participation. According to Statistics Estonia, in 2021, there were 174 museums in Estonia with 229 museum sites. The number of museum visits was nearly 1.7 million, which is 59,000 fewer than in 2020 and the lowest in the past 18 years.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 1st quarter of 2017, the unemployment rate was 5.6%, the employment rate 66.3% and the labour force participation rate 70.2%. The labour force participation rate reached a record level in comparison with the 1st quarters of previous years.
