According to Statistics Estonia, there were nearly 12,000 job vacancies in the enterprises, institutions and organisations of Estonia in the 2nd quarter of 2017. This is the highest number of job vacancies in the past nine years.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the fourth quarter of 2020, the gross domestic product (GDP) decreased by 1.2% year on year, and the GDP at current prices was 7.3 billion euros. In 2020 as a whole, the Estonian economy shrank by 2.9%.

According to Statistics Estonia, in November 2017, the producer price index of industrial output changed by 0.3% compared to October and by 3.3% compared to November 2016.
Population census. More people speak dialects than in the previous census

It is estimated that 17% of the native Estonian-speaking population speak a dialect. This is 2 percentage points more than in the previous census. The share of dialect speakers has increased the most in Hiiu and Saare counties, but it has not decreased in any county. 10% of dialect speakers speak more than one dialect.
Statistics Estonia is planning mobility analysis to prevent the spread of the coronavirus

The crisis commission of the Government of the Republic issued an order to Statistics Estonia for the preparation of analytical output using anonymous data from electronic communications, with the purpose to prevent the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19). The goal is to launch the project this week.
Statistics Estonia and mobile network operators restart mobility analysis

Statistics Estonia concluded agreements with Telia, Tele2 and Elisa to restart mobility analysis. The goal of the planned mobility analysis is to help the government evaluate the impact of the adopted COVID-19 countermeasures on the movement of people, assess change in the risk of infection and effectively plan communication in Estonian regions. Mobility will be analysed using the same methodology as in last spring.

Exports of services continued to grow in the second quarter

According to Statistics Estonia and Eesti Pank, in the second quarter of 2022, Estonia’s exports of services grew by 32% while imports of services fell by 5% year on year. In the second quarter of this year, Estonia’s exports of services totalled 2.5 billion euros and imports of services 1.8 billion euros.
