According to Statistics Estonia, in 2009 the gross domestic product (GDP) decreased by 14.1% compared to the previous year. The biggest downfall was in the 2nd quarter when the GDP decreased by 16.1%. After that, the decrease gradually decelerated. In the 4th quarter, the GDP decreased by 9.5% according to the first estimates.

In the Population and Housing Census, which starts at the end of the year, among else, people will be able to give an assessment of their health. Health questions in the same wording were also included in the census ten years ago, which is why the results will provide an overview of Estonian people’s health and how it has changed in a decade.

A total of 737,873 dwellings were counted in the 2021 Population and Housing Census, based on registers. According to census data, there are now 14% more private houses than 10 years ago and 24% of all dwellings are vacant.
