According to Statistics Estonia, in September 2010 the production of industrial enterprises grew 31% compared to September of the previous year. This year the growth of production has mainly influenced by the increase in external demand, since domestic market has slightly livened up only during the last months.

According to Statistics Estonia, in January 2010 the production of industrial enterprises was equal to the production in January of the previous year. The growth in the energy production was the main factor causing the increase in the production, which had been declining since the respective month of the previous year, because the production of manufacturing decreased in comparison with January of the previous year.

Helle Bunder, leading analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that the volume of manufacturing production showed a modest increase in each month of the first quarter. “Manufacturing, which had been in a slump since summer 2022, started to show the first signs of recovery in October and November last year. This year has also started positively,” explained Bunder. In March, the volume of industrial production increased in more than half of manufacturing activities. Helle Bunder, leading analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that the increased output of manufacturing resulted primarily from the higher volume of production in the manufacture of wood. “In January, the output of the wood industry was up by 8.3% year on year. This was the first time since May 2022 that the output of this industry increased,” explained Bunder. In January, the volume of industrial production increased in more than half of manufacturing activities. Looking at the larger industries, there was an increase in output in the manufacture of wood (8.3%), fabricated metal products (5.9%)

According to Statistics Estonia, in March 2024, the total production of industrial enterprises fell by 5.7% compared with March last year. Among the three main sectors, output increased slightly in mining (by 0.4%), but decreased by 6.5% in manufacturing and by 4.4% in electricity production.

According to Statistics Estonia, in September 2023, the total production of industrial enterprises decreased by 12.5% at constant prices compared with the corresponding month of 2022. Output fell in two sectors: by 37.6% in electricity production and by 10.9% in manufacturing. In mining, output remained almost at the same level, as the decrease was just 0.3% year on year.
