Today, Statistics Estonia presented its governance dashboards, which help state authorities, the business sector, the media and everyone else to make informed and data-based decisions.

At the beginning of September, foreign experts will visit Statistics Estonia to evaluate compliance with the quality requirements of the European Union statistical office Eurostat and the European Statistics Code of Practice.

According to Statistics Estonia, an estimated 80% of the population aged 20–64 participated in adult education in the previous year*. Following the peer review of Statistics Estonia last month, the peer review team has given first recommendations to Statistics Estonia. The feedback highlighted strong statistical legislation in Estonia, the agency’s role in data governance and consistent work to improve the quality of databases and questionnaires.

According to Statistics Estonia, power plants produced 8,910 gigawatt hours (GWh) of electricity and 5,074 GWh of heat in 2022. Compared with the year before, electricity production increased by 21% and heat production by 8%.
