Today, 1 September, marks the beginning of the 2020 Agricultural Census in Estonia. The census, which is organised every ten years, lasts until 15 November. Statistics Estonia expects around 11,600 agricultural holdings to participate in the census.
Absolute poverty means that a person’s income is below the absolute poverty threshold. According to Statistics Estonia, in the fourth quarter of 2023, the gross domestic product (GDP) decreased by 2.7% compared with the same period of 2022. The GDP at current prices was 9.9 billion euros in the fourth quarter. In 2023 as a whole, Estonia’s GDP decreased by 3% and amounted to 37.7 billion euros at current prices.
According to Statistics Estonia, in the third quarter of 2020, the gross domestic product (GDP) decreased by 1.9% year on year. The GDP at current prices was 7 billion euros. Transportation and storage and manufacturing activities were the main contributors to the economic decline.
According to Statistics Estonia, in June 2020, the production of industrial enterprises decreased by 6% compared to June 2019. Production decreased in manufacturing and mining, while energy production increased owing to last year’s low comparison basis.
According to Statistics Estonia, in November 2022, Estonian accommodation establishments served nearly 226,000 tourists, which is 35% more than in November 2021. There was a rise in the number of both foreign* and domestic tourists.
According to the preliminary data of Statistics Estonia, on 1 January 2021, the population of Estonia was 1,329,460 persons, which is 480 persons more than at the same time a year ago. Population decreased by 2,590 persons due to negative natural increase and increased by 3,070 persons as a result of positive net migration.
