This year, the theme of World Statistics Day, celebrated on 20 October 2020, is “Connecting the world with data we can trust”. Statistics Estonia invites everyone interested in data to a virtual statistics day event.

According to Statistics Estonia, in July 2021, the total production of industrial enterprises increased by 10% year on year. Production increased by 16% in energy production, by 6% in manufacturing and by 72% in mining.

According to Statistics Estonia, in January 2021, the total production of industrial enterprises increased by 1% year on year. Production decreased in mining by 13%, remained unchanged in manufacturing and increased by 33% in the energy sector.

In December 2021, the producer price index of industrial output, which expresses changes in the producer prices of industrial goods manufactured in Estonia for the domestic market and for export, increased by 24.7% compared to December 2020 and by 5.3% compared to November 2021.

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2022, life expectancy at birth was 78.1 years in Estonia. Male life expectancy was 73.6 years and female life expectancy was 82.3 years. Men live disability-free for 57.9 years and women for 60.6 years.

Lauri Veski, team lead of consumer price statistics at Statistics Estonia, said that the biggest impact on the consumer price index in 2024 came from price increases related to food and non-alcoholic beverages, which accounted for 23.7% of the total index rise. The prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages rose by 3.2% last year. “Among food products, the biggest rise occurred in the prices of olive oil (44%) and juices and syrups (36.7%). According to the preliminary data of Statistics Estonia, 847,800 tonnes of milk and 79,900 tonnes of meat were produced in 2020. This is, respectively, 3% and 5% more than the year before. The utilised agricultural area without kitchen gardens increased by 3,000 hectares and totalled 983,000 hectares.
