Jane Leppmets, foreign trade analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that the upward trend in foreign trade, which started in the second half of 2024, continued in January this year. “In intra-EU trade, exports were up by 11% and imports by 9%. According to Statistics Estonia, in November 2020, the production of industrial enterprises decreased by 2% compared to November 2019. In the three main industrial sectors, production fell by 1% in manufacturing and by 12% in energy production, but grew by 2% in mining.

According to Statistics Estonia, 22.8% of Estonia’s population lived at risk of poverty and 1.4% in absolute poverty in 2021. Compared with 2020, the share of people living at risk of poverty rose 2.2% and the share of people living in absolute poverty fell 0.8%.
