Jelena Jurkova, analyst in the producer price statistics team at Statistics Estonia, said that, year on year, the producer price index of industrial output fell for the third consecutive month. “Compared with August 2024, the index was most affected by price decreases in electricity production and in the manufacture of fuel oils. In the second quarter, the prices of apartments rose by 4.5% and the prices of houses by 7.8% compared with the second quarter last year. Evelin Puura, the foreign trade statistics team lead at Statistics Estonia, pointed out that Estonia's exports were significantly affected by the re-exports of previously imported goods which increased by 30% year on year. “The rise in re-exports was mainly due to transport equipment,” Puura added. Exports of goods of Estonian origin grew by 4% compared with February last year, accounting for 65% of total exports.
