Latvia conducted a census based entirely on register data on the first day of this year, and it can be considered as a complete success. According to Statistics Estonia, the Dwelling Price Index increased by 5.9% in 2018 compared to the average of 2017. Year-on-year, the prices of apartments increased by 6.4% and the prices of houses by 4.7%.

Helga Laurmaa, leading analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that nearly 1.86 million foreign tourists and nearly 1.76 million domestic tourists were accommodated in Estonia in 2024. “Compared with 2023, there were 11% more foreign tourists, while the number of domestic tourists remained at the same level. Piret Pukk, leading analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that Estonian residents have been travelling more in recent years but are still not making as many trips as before the pandemic, especially as concerns outbound trips. “Last year, the number of domestic trips was again over two times bigger than the number of outbound trips. According to Statistics Estonia, starting today, 16 August, until Thursday, employees from the statistical institution of Bosnia-Herzegovina will be familiarising themselves with Estonia’s experience in organising population censuses, and with the preparatory work taking place for the 2011 Population and Housing Census (PHC 2011).

According to Statistics Estonia, the change of the consumer price index in September 2020 was -0.3% compared to August 2020 and -1.1% compared to September 2019. Year on year, goods were 0.7% and services 1.7% cheaper.
