Statistics Estonia’s survey on information technology in households shows that inhabitants of Estonia are active users of the internet, but businesses need to protect themselves from security threats.

The producer price index of industrial output, which expresses changes in the producer prices of industrial goods manufactured in Estonia for the domestic market and for export, increased by 0.1% in August 2023 compared with July and decreased by 4.4% compared with August last year.

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2023, the organic farming area in Estonia was 225,300 hectares, representing 22.8% of total utilised agricultural area. 92% of the organic farming area was fully converted and the rest was under conversion. Compared with 2022, the organic farming area decreased by 2.5%, and 78 organic producers ceased activities.

Helle Bunder, leading analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that April data show that the growth in manufacturing output has become broad-based. “In April, the volume of industrial production increased in most manufacturing activities. Looking at the larger industries, output grew in the manufacture of wood (3.1%), electrical equipment (7.3%), fabricated metal products (6.6%), and food products (6.1%),” said Bunder. In the energy sector, the volume of electricity production (in megawatt-hours) decreased by 19.9% and the production of heat by 7.2% in July. Helga Laurmaa, leading analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that 133,800 foreign and 117,500 domestic tourists were accommodated in Estonia in April 2025. The number of foreign tourists has shown considerable growth over the last year but has not yet fully recovered from the slump a few years ago. “Compared with April 2024, the number of foreign tourists increased by 16%.
