According to the preliminary estimate of Statistics Estonia, in September 2025, the harmonised index of consumer prices (HICP), which includes the expenditures of tourists, decreased by 1.2% compared with August. Compared with September last year, the HICP rose by 5.2%. The HICP is a flash estimate, which will be revised based on the September price data.

Construction prices rose by 1.5% last year

According to Statistics Estonia, the construction price index, which expresses the change in construction expenditures, increased by 1.5% in 2025 compared with the average of 2024. The rising cost of materials was the main reason for the increase in the construction price index.

There were 7% more foreign tourists accommodated in November

According to Statistics Estonia, accommodation establishments served 254,989 tourists in November 2025, which is 3% more than in the same month a year earlier. There were 7% more foreign tourists, but the number of domestic tourists did not increase.

The volume of retail trade turnover in November was unchanged year on year

According to Statistics Estonia, in November 2025, the turnover of retail trade enterprises was 907 million euros. Compared with November 2024, the volume of retail trade turnover remained at the same level.

According to Statistics Estonia, in October 2009 exports of goods from Estonia at current prices totalled about 9 billion kroons and imports to Estonia amounted to 9.8 billion kroons. Exports to Russia declined the most compared to October 2008.

More than half of the gross domestic product of Estonia is continuously created in Harju county

According to Statistics Estonia, Harju county covered 59.7% of the gross domestic product (GDP) in Estonia in 2007.

In November producer prices increased compared to the previous month

According to Statistics Estonia, in November 2009 the producer price index increased 0.1% compared to October and decreased 2.0% compared to November 2008.

Statistics Estonia started to employ enumerators for the pilot Census of REL 2011

Statistics Estonia started to employ enumerators for the pilot Census of the 2011 Population and Housing Census (REL 2011). The total of 24 persons will be employed to enumerate the population.

According to Statistics Estonia, in October 2009 113,000 foreign tourists stayed in accommodation establishments, which was 3% more than in the same month of the previous year.

According to the preliminary data of Statistics Estonia, in October 2009 exports of goods from Estonia amounted to 8.9 billion kroons at current prices and imports to Estonia made up 9.8 billion kroons. Compared to October of the previous year as well as to September this year the foreign trade decreased.

Decrease of the GDP decelerated in the 3rd quarter

According to the first estimates of Statistics Estonia, the gross domestic product (GDP) of Estonia decreased by 15.6% in the 3rd quarter of 2009 compared to the same quarter in the previous year. The GDP decreased successively for seven quarters, still the decrease decelerated in the 3rd quarter.
